The article is about the efforts of linguists and folklorists to reconstruct the Proto-Indo-European mythology which links folk tales and gods from India to Ireland. The serpent-slaying storm god, the Sky Father, the Divine Twins: these figures mutated and multiplied across cultures but retained their essential forms.
